A week to go until Corbett's in Dundalk brings old friends together

With just one week to go, excitement is building for the Corbett’s Bar 20 Year Reunion on Friday, 6 November 2026, as former regulars prepare to come together again to celebrate the people, friendships and unforgettable nights associated with the Dundalk pub.

The reunion has generated huge interest online, with the “Corbetts Bar - Old Photos” Facebook group bringing old friends back into contact.

People travelling from all over Ireland have been in touch through the group, sharing photographs, swapping stories and making plans to meet faces they may not have seen for two decades.

For many, Corbett’s was far more than a place for a pint. It was the backdrop to packed World Cup nights, golf outings, football teams, live music, celebrations, street festivals and the sort of stories that somehow get better with every retelling.

From “Spuds in Their Ears” to the many colourful characters who passed through the doors, there is plenty to remember.

The reunion night will feature music and a collection of old photographs and memories, giving everyone a chance to revisit the atmosphere of Corbett’s and perhaps identify a few familiar faces — even if the hairstyles have changed considerably since 2006.

Organisers say the evening is first and foremost about reconnecting: catching up with old friends, remembering the laughs and celebrating a place that brought so many people together.

There will also be a moment to remember friends and familiar faces who are sadly no longer with us, but remain an important part of the Corbett’s story.

“I went all the way to Spain to get a new tan especially for the Corbett’s reunion! It’s hard to believe 20 years have passed. I’m looking forward to seeing all the old faces again — although after two decades, I might need a few introductions!” , said Dessie Corbett

With only seven days to go, the message is simple: dig out the photographs, dust off the old stories and get ready for a night of music, memories and familiar faces. The 2006 hairstyles, however, are probably best left in 2006!
