Tributes have been pouring for Rene Gray of Cooley Park, Dundalk, Co. Louth following her unexpected but peaceful passing at home on Wednesday, March 5, 2025.
Messages of love, gratitude and condolences have been left on Rene's rip.ie page as friends, neighbours and others in the locality paid tribute to a woman who left an indelible mark on her community through her selflessness, kindness and uplifting sense of humour.
One person said: "Rene you were one in a million, you were always there for anyone who needed help and showed kindness to everyone you will be sadly missed."

A friend wrote: "You spent most of your life looking after other's, I hope you're looked after as good as you did for everybody. Rest in Peace my Friend."
A neighbour said: "Very sad to hear of Rene' sudden passing. Rene was a great neighbour over the years. Cooley Park has lost another good person."
Another person wrote: "Saddened to hear about the passing of Rene. She never past me by without a chat and telling me she would say a prayer for me and my family. Thinking of all her family and friends. Cooley park lost a fabulous kind lady"
Another person said: "She had a heart of gold and was concerned about everyone’s welfare… such a kind and generous nature, Rest in Eternal Peace Rene"
Barrack Street Butchers also paid tribute to Rene in a message which said: "We are deeply saddened to hear the passing of Rene, One of our first and best customers, She never failed to put a smile and laugh on all of our faces with her quick wit, Our deepest condolences to Renes family and friends a true lady."
Rene is predeceased by her parents John and Anna, brother Frank, sisters Mary and Pamela (in-infancy).
She will be sadly missed and remembered with love by her daughter Mary-Justine, brothers Gene and Alan, nieces and nephews Ann-Marie, Jason, Emma-Jane, John-Francis, great-grand nieces Faith, Paige-Lily and Vivienne, brother-in-law Dessie Maguire, sisters-in-law Bernie and Patricia, Mary-Justines partner Finbarr Kelly, extended family relatives, wonderful friends and neighbours.
Reposing at Shevlin's Funeral Home, Barrack Street, Friday, March 7 at 12 noon to 8pm.
Removal on Saturday morning at 10.45am on foot to St. Joseph's Redemptorist Church arriving for Funeral Mass at 11 o'clock followed by burial in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Dundalk.
