Gardai stand down search for missing 16-year-old from Louth amid significant development

Gardai have said Blake Kavanagh has been located 'safe and well'

Gardai have stood down a missing person appeal for a 16-year-old boy who vanished from Drogheda over a week ago. 

In an update, issued on Monday morning, they say that Blake Kavanagh has been located "safe and well" and that no further action is required.

The 16-year-old was reported missing from Drogheda in County Louth on Saturday August 30, sparking an urgent nationwide appeal.     

While gardai have confirmed Blake has been located, no further information has been disclosed to the public at this time.  

A spokesperson for An Garda Siochana has thanked the media and members of the public for their assistance with the appeal.
