Molly Hughes has joined the State Solicior for County Louth
A new solicitor in the office of the State Solicitor for County Louth has been formally introduced to Dundalk district court, ahead of major changes at Circuit Court level at the end of the month.
From April 28th, Dundalk Circuit Court will begin sitting on a Monday to enable the swearing in of juries the day before separate trials begin at Dundalk and Drogheda courthouse the following day.
Last Wednesday, the district court was told that Molly Hughes has joined the State Solicitor for Co. Louth, Fergus Mullen.
She qualified in 2023 having previously obtained a first-class degree in law from Maynooth University and worked as a judicial assistant to Judge Alex Owens.
Solicitor Frank McDonnell said her appointment as Mr Mullen’s assistant was timely ahead of a second circuit court venue for County Louth in Drogheda and noted two prosecuting counsel were already in place and Ms Hughes had already appeared in the circuit court.
