Art as Exchange (AAEX) said it is proud to announce 'Exchange', a dynamic new exhibition that celebrates artistic collaboration and open communication.

Curated by Caoimhe Murphy, this exhibition will take place in the Credit Union Building on Clanbrassil Street, Dundalk, from April 11th to 17th, inviting audiences to experience art as an interactive and evolving dialogue.

All are welcome to the opening reception of the exhibition this Friday, April 11th at 7.30pm.

At the heart of Exchange lies the idea of creative reciprocity—sharing materials, ideas, time, and conversation.

This exhibition serves as both a call to action and a reflection on the collective nature of art-making.

Through experimental and collaborative processes, AAEX artists explore the concept of artistic exchange, fostering meaningful connections between fellow artists and the public.

One of the exhibition’s key elements is a unique exploration repurposed shop mannequins, kindly donated to AAEX by Modern Fashions.

As a group, AAEX artists have embraced these figures as a canvas for creative expression, investigating themes of identity, presence, and transformation.

In addition to dedicated artist pairings, the project also facilitates a larger group collaboration, offering an exciting opportunity for both returning and new members to engage with each other and their audience in fresh and innovative ways.

AAEX’s mission has always been to reimagine art as a shared experience rather than a solitary pursuit.

Through Exchange, visitors are invited to witness and participate in the creative process, emphasizing the fluid and ever-evolving nature of artistic dialogue.

This event is curated by Caoimhe Murphy and funded by Louth Arts Office and Dundalk Credit Union.

AAEX (Art as Exchange) is a collective dedicated to exploring art as an interactive and participatory experience.

By fostering collaboration and community engagement, AAEX artists challenge traditional notions of artistic creation, redefining it as an ongoing exchange of ideas and materials.
