Louth County Council issue update on road gritting during severe weather

Louth County Council have given an update on the level of gritting that is ongoing in Louth today and over the next few days.

'All routes were gritted and ploughed 3 times last night and early this morning with another drive currently underway,' a statement read.

'Work crews are also working on the roads and footpaths in the town centres of Ardee, Dundalk and Drogheda.'

The council also revealed the amount of grit used.

"Louth Gritting teams used a total of 180 tonne of salt on Tuesday night, while treating a aggregate total of 1632km of national and regional roads."
