Planning permission sought from Louth County Council to replace apartment block with five houses

Plans are underway for the removal of an apartment building in Dromiskin, that was originally granted planning permission by Louth County Council in 2023, to make way for houses.

Laurel Hill Contracts Ltd has applied for planning permission for the development at The Orchard, Dromiskin, Dundalk, seeking the go ahead for the removal of previously granted apartment building containing six apartments, and for their replacement with five houses.

The proposed five houses comprise two pairs of semi-detached, and one detached dwelling unit. The planning application also provides for internal road layout modifications, minor alteration to the position of previously granted dwellings and all associated amendments to site development works.

A decision is due on the application, which is at a pre-validation stage, by 1 June 2026, with submissions due by 11 May.

Propmount Enterprises Ltd had been granted planning permission by Louth County Council in 2023 for a development at the location, which comprised a two-bed detached dwelling house; eight, three-bed, semi-detached houses; a block of duplex apartments comprising three, two-bed apartments and three, three-bed apartments; and a block of duplex apartments comprising a one-bed apartment and a two-bed apartment.
