Deaths in Dundalk - December  13, 2016

The death has occurred of Most Rev. Gerard Clifford DD
Annaskeagh, Ravensdale and formerly Bellurgan, Dundalk, Louth

Auxiliary Bishop Emeritus to the Archbishop of Armagh. Died peacefully. Deeply regretted by his sister Rose (Briody,) brother Christopher, sister-in-law Phyllis, nephews, grandnephews, grandnieces, Archbishop Eamon Martin, Cardinal Brady, the people, religious and clergy of the Archdiocese of Armagh.

Reception of Remains today, Tuesday, at St Patrick’s Cathedral, Dundalk, at 7.15pm, followed by Mass at 7.30pm. Lying in repose until Thursday, 11.45am. Evening Prayer tomorrow, Wednesday at 7.30pm. Requiem Mass on Thursday at 12 noon, followed by burial at Calvary Cemetery, Ravensdale. Family flowers only. Donations in lieu to the Maria Goretti Foundation, Lordship. formerly of Cluan Enda, Dundalk, Louth

Nancy Durnin, Sunday 11th December 2016, peacefully in the love and tender care of Blackrock Abbey Nursing Home. Predeceased by her husband Jimmy (ex C.I.E.). Very deeply regretted by her loving family, sons Noel, Paul and Pat, daughters Maura, Sheila and Una, brother Tom, sons and daughters-in-law, 18 grangchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins, extended family, relatives, neighbours and friends.

​Reposing at the residence of her daughter Una, Meadow View, Avondale, from Tuesday morning 11am and Wednesday 11am. Removal on Thursday afternoon at 12.30pm driving to Cluan Enda then proceeding on foot to Saint Joseph's Redemptorist Church, arriving for Funeral Mass at 1pm, followed by burial in Saint Patrick's Cemetery Dundalk.

The death has occurred of Anna Mahon (née Lynch)
Leopardstown, Dublin / Dunleer, Louth / Carlow

Anna Mahon (née Lynch), late of Leopardstown, Co. Dublin and formerly of Dunleer, Co. Louth and Carlow, died 11th December, 2016, peacefully at home, beloved wife of the late Kevin, much loved mother of Jimmy, Nuala, Linda, Hazel, Maria and the late Ken and Eleanor, cherished grandmother and great-grandmother; sadly missed by her sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, extended family and friends.

A gathering for family and friends will take place at Colliers Funeral Home, Old Connaught Avenue, Bray on Friday evening (16th December) from 6.00pm to 7.00pm. Requiem Mass on Saturday (17th December) at 10.00 o’clock in the Church of Our Lady of Perpetual Succour, Foxrock followed by burial in Shanganagh Cemetery.

Mary Brigid Ryan (nee Birdie Brennan), Cedarvale, Drogheda St., Collon, formerly of Dublin and Slane. Peacefully at Our Lady's Hospital, Navan. Brid will be sadly missed her loving husband and best friend Joe, daughter Catherine, son Colm, granddaughter Ellen, son-in-law Warren, regretted by her loving sisters Renee, Moira and Ann, predeceased by her sister Lily and brothers Harry and Sean, sister-in-law Bridget, brothers-in-law John and Conall, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

Reposing at Finlay's Funeral Home on Tuesday from 4pm to 8pm. Removal on Wednesday at 10.45am to the Church of the Nativity of Our Lady, Ardee arriving for 11am Mass. Private Cremation on Thursday.

Tony Whitmarsh, Monday 12th December 2016, peacefully in the love and tender care of Dealgan House Nursing Home, formerly of Barrack Street Dundalk, predeceased by his parents George and Rose, brothers Frank and Paddy, Very deeply regretted by his loving wife Eleanor (nee Bolster), sons Philip (England), George (New Zealand), brothers Victor (Galway), Cyril (Dundalk), daughter-in-law Aroha, grandchildren Paul and Temaia, brother-in-law Tommy, sisters-in-law Dympha and Ann, nephews, nieces, cousins, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at the Oratory Chapel, Dealgan House Nursing Home, from Wednesday afternoon 2pm to 7pm. Removal on Thursday morning at 10.30am, driving to Saint Joseph's Redemptorist Church, arriving for Funeral Mass at 11am, followed by burial in Saint Patrick's Cemetery, Dundalk.
