Bellurgan United FC held their annual Juvenile Awards Ceremony in Ballymascanlon Hotel on Saturday afternoon last, the event dedicated to honouring the achievements, dedication, and sportsmanship of young footballers in the local club.

The ceremony brings together players, coaches, families, and supporters to celebrate a successful season and recognise the outstanding contributions made by everyone involved.

Club member and women’s team coach, Austin Traynor welcomed everyone to the event and recapped on a very successful year for the peninsula club, which included league and cup wins in all age groups varying from under 12’s to under 16’s,
Austin complimented the commitment of all the young players and their coaches throughout the season, he thanked coaches and parents for all their time and wished them well for the upcoming season,
There was special thanks for committee members for all their hard work in preparing for the event and their hard work throughout the whole season.
The new men’s senior coach was announced to the attendees on the day, Stefan McKevitt, who got a great reception, was there to perform the presentations to the winners.
There were two award categories in each age group, Player of the Year and Most Improved Player of the Year, with some age groups presenting a Player's Player of the Year.
Along with this, the under 15 girls received their league and cup trophies while the under-13 boys received their DCUSL U13 Division 2 runner-up awards.
Present at the ceremony was Robbie Matthews from Volkswagen Louth, who very generously sponsored tops for all the underage coaches in the club.
The presentation ceremony concluded with Austin wishing everyone well and thanking everyone for coming out and supporting the event. He gave special thanks to the Ballymascanlon Hotel for hosting the event.
