A 60-year-old man was convicted in his absence of dangerous driving last week, after Dundalk District Court was shown footage of him doing a u-turn on a one-way street in the town, and driving against the flow of traffic.
Arthur McDonagh of The Close, Mouthamilton, Dundalk was charged with committing the offence on Market Street, Dundalk on May 9th last.
The court heard he was recognised the next day as being the driver of the blue Ford Focus and was wearing the same clothing.
The car was seen to mount the footpath on a couple of occasions and drove against the follow of traffic.

The investigating garda added that a cyclist who was travelling in the correct direction "narrowly avoided a collision".
The Defence solicitor, who said he was very limited in his instructions, asked where the one way entry sign was.
The garda pointed out the defendant had made an illegal u-turn and had hit the kerb twice in doing so.
Inspector Martina Gallagher also said: "There was a van trying to come up the street (from Chapel Street) as well".
Judge Nicola Andrews convicted Mr McDonagh of the offence and issued a bench warrant for his arrest for sentencing.
