Fundraiser launched for Louth family after tragic death of father

James leaves behind his partner of 14 years, Laura, and their two young daughters, Millie (18 months) and Lucy (6 months) along with his 21-year-old son, James Jr.

A fundraising campaign has been launched to support a Louth mother and her young family following the sudden and death of her partner in late May.

James O'Connor was just 42 years old when he tragically passed away after suffering a severe head injury in an accident. He remained on life support for five days before his passing away.

James leaves behind his partner of 14 years, Laura, and their two young daughters, Millie (18 months) and Lucy (6 months) along with his 21-year-old son, James Jr.

A friend of Laura’s, Sarah has set up the GoFundMe campaign describing James as “happy, healthy, and hardworking,” and a man who “loved his partner, his children, and life itself.”

The funds raised will go toward easing the family’s financial burden, helping cover costs such as childcare, education, and household needs during this difficult time.

"I have known Laura for 19 years and even though I am an ocean away, I felt it in my heart to set this up for her and her girls," Sarah said.

"As a fellow young widow with two young daughters myself, I know this load is heavy so let’s help lighten it for her."
