Dez Murphy coming to Toale's tonight

Plenty happening, as ever, at Toales on Crowe Street in Dundalk this week.

Thursday 17th July - Fireside Sessions presents Dez Murphy + Mark Brodie - Doors 9pm - Free admission

The Fireside Sessions, a weekly acoustic club held every Thursday night in Toales Bar, continues its run of quality homegrown music with the return of seasoned blues singer-songwriter Dez Murphy on Thursday, 17th July.

A long-standing figure in the Irish and UK music scenes, Dez’s journey stretches back to London in the 1980s and continues to this day in Monaghan, where he remains active as both a performer and songwriter.

He’s a founding member of the Moposogs, a local writers' group, and the long-time host of the Monaghan Blues Jam, a beloved monthly event that’s been running for over 20 years.

Dez brings with him a deep catalogue of original songs, shaped by decades of performing, and a blues style that’s both gritty and heartfelt.

Support on the night comes from Mark Brodie and together, these two artists promise a night of genuine, homegrown music in the relaxed and welcoming setting of Toales’ Fireside Sessions.

As always, admission is free and music starts at 9pm. Early arrival is recommended.

Friday 18th July - El Paso Comedy presents Karl Spain + guests - Adm €12 - Doors 8pm

The El Paso Comedy Club returns to Toales Live Venue 9in Dundalk, hosted as always by Dundalk's favourite Texan - Elizabeth Redmond - on Friday, July 18th, with one of Ireland’s best-loved comedians, Karl Spain.

A mainstay of the Irish comedy scene for over two decades, Karl shot to national fame with the hit RTÉ series Karl Spain Wants a Woman in 2005, followed by Karl Spain Wants to Rock in 2009.

His sharp wit and relatable humour have made him a favourite on shows like The Panel, The Late Late Show, Tubridy Tonight, and more recently as the face of the Ray D’Arcy Show’s “Stand Up and Be Funny” competition.

Karl has performed stand-up across the globe—from Australia and the U.S. to the Middle East and the UK—and is a regular at major festivals including Kilkenny Cat Laughs, Galway Comedy Festival, and Edinburgh Fringe.

Whether sharing the stage with Kevin Bridges or Bernard O’Shea (Fat Chancers), Karl’s blend of observational humour and laid-back charm always delivers.

Saturday 19th July - Fomorian + Killjoy + Burn Down The House - Doors 8pm - Adm €8

Fast-rising stars of Ireland’s underground metal scene, Fomorian return to the main stage at Toales on Saturday, 19th July, following their blistering set at the recent AurFest Music Festival.

Known for their ferocious blend of progressive heavy metal, Fomorian channels the raw power of Lamb of God, Chimaira, and Sepultura into a sound that’s both aggressive and precise—packed with pummelling riffs, technical groove, and vocals that shake the walls.

This isn’t just a gig. It’s a sonic earthquake!. Fomorian don’t take the stage—they detonate.
Expect sore necks, raw throats, and one hell of a night.

Support on the night comes from one of Dundalk's finest rock bands Killjoy and debuting in Toales, Kildare Four piece rock band Burn Down the House.

All this for just a fiver! Doors open 8pm
