Drogheda Credit Union recently celebrated the recipients of its Higher Education Scholarship Programme at a presentation in its Drogheda branch, where 15 local student members were each awarded €1,000 to support their further and higher education journeys.

Fifteen local students have received €1,000 each through Drogheda Credit Union’s Higher Education Scholarship Programme.

Launched earlier this year, the programme welcomed applications from members entering or already attending university, technological universities, PLC courses, apprenticeships and other recognised further education and training programmes.

These scholarships aim to ease the financial pressures that come with continuing education and offer a contribution towards the costs students face as they take this important next step.

This initiative puts the credit union’s commitment to education into action, providing practical financial support as students build their skills, pursue their interests and work towards their future careers.

CEO Sarah McGee said: “As a community focused financial institution, Drogheda Credit Union has always been about much more than banking.

“Education opens doors, creates opportunities and helps shape futures, and we are delighted to be able to play a small part in helping our members achieve their ambitions through this scholarship programme.”
