WATCH: Netflix release behind-the-scenes look at 'Wednesday' and it was filmed in Ireland!

The first part of 'Wednesday' season two will be released on Netflix on August 6, with part two coming on September 3

It's official! A behind-the-scenes look has shown us that Wednesday Addams is set to return and prowl the gothic halls of Nevermore Academy once again, where fresh foes and woes await her.

Believe it or not, the huge Netflix series 'Wednesday', based on the famous Addams Family character and played by Jenna Ortega, was filmed in the stunning county of Wicklow and allegedly some other Irish beauty spots from May 7 to November 27 of 2024.

The series is said to be the largest international production that has ever taken place in the country.

The first season of the beloved show was filmed in Romania and while the reason for the move to Ireland has not been revealed, we sure aren't complaining!

Much of the filming took place in Ardmore Studios, located in Bray Co Wicklow, which has been involved in the production of some major TV shows and films over the years, including The Butcher Boy, Moone Boy, The Field and Braveheart.

Creator and showrunners Alfred Gough and Miles Millar also return for the spine-tingling second season of 'Wednesday', alongside executive producer and director Tim Burton.

This season, Wednesday must navigate family, friends and old adversaries, propelling her into another year of delightfully dark and kooky mayhem.

Armed with her signature razor-sharp wit and deadpan charm, Wednesday is also plunged into a new bone-chilling supernatural mystery.

The Netflix series was a major hit when it was released in November 2022, becoming one of the biggest shows that year with 350 million viewers.

The first part of 'Wednesday' season two will be released on Netflix's streaming platform on August 6, with part two coming on September 3.
