Comedian and actor PJ Gallagher joins An Táin Arts Centre’s Book Club for a Q&A at The Townhouse Restaurant and Bar.

An Táin Arts Centre said they are delighted to have comedian, actor and author, PJ Gallagher, the author of July's book Madhouse, join them for a Q&A, in the relaxed setting of Townhouse Bar & Restaurant in Dundalk on Friday 26th July at 8pm.

Madhouse is based on the unbelievable true life story of comedian PJ Gallagher.

When PJ was ten, his Ma, a nurse, moved six men with schizophrenia into the family home to care for them full time.

Many psychiatric institutions were closing down and there were few places for long term residents to go.

An Táin Arts Centre’s Director Paul Hayes said: “I’m really looking forward to interviewing PJ, his book is a fascinating read, brave and thought provoking.”

The book club meeting will take place in The Townhouse Bar & Restaurant at 8pm on Friday 26th July.

The book club is an opportunity for people who love to read and chat about books to come along and get to know one another.

An Táin Arts Centre say that you don’t have to have read the book to come along and join in the chat.

This book club is aimed at adults, is free to attend but registration is required to participate via the website.

Members are encouraged to contact their local library, to obtain a copy of the book, or contact Roe River books.

Visit www.antain.ie to register and become a member and receive updates regarding the book club.
