Meath Education and Training Board (LMETB) is pleased to announce the appointment of Shane Williams as the new Principal of Drogheda Institute of Further Education (DIFE), following the successful completion of a comprehensive recruitment process led by the LMETB Recruitment Section in recent months.
Shane has been a member of the senior management team at DIFE since 2021, serving as Deputy Principal, and has played a central role in the significant success, development, and growth of the college during this period.
His leadership has contributed greatly to strengthening programme provision, supporting staff and learners, and advancing the institute’s strategic vision within the Further Education sector.
Shane brings extensive experience in further education leadership. He has served as Deputy Principal at DIFE for the past six years, having previously held the position of Deputy Principal at O’Fiaich Institute of Further Education.
Earlier in his career, he was a member of the senior leadership team at Monaghan Institute with Cavan and Monaghan Education and Training Board.
Throughout his career, Shane has demonstrated strong leadership, innovation, and a deep commitment to learner success and educational excellence. He brings a wealth of knowledge, experience, and skills to this important senior FET management role within LMETB.
Speaking following his appointment, Shane noted:
“It is a great privilege to take on the role of Principal at DIFE. I look forward to working with our dedicated staff, learners, and partners to continue the upward trajectory and growth of DIFE in the coming years.
“Together, we will further expand opportunities for prospective learners in the region to access high-quality education and training, providing a springboard to employment, apprenticeships, and higher education.”
