Mixed bag expected for the week ahead according to Met Éireann's latest forecast

The country has officially said goodbye to the freezing cold temperatures as Met Éireann has forecast a wet and mild week ahead.
Sunday was off to a foggy start with the entire country placed under a Status Yellow warning for fog since Saturday evening. The fog has thankfully began to clear and we even may get some hazy sunshine throughout the rest of the day.
There will be some patches of rain, however, which will mostly affect the Atlantic counties. The rain will turn more persistent across west Munster and west Connacht later on Sunday.
Some more gradual snow melt is also expected, with Met Éireann warning that this may lead to some localised flooding. The temperatures today will be much milder than in recent days, ranging between 6 and 12 degrees.
Rain and drizzle will continue through the night across the country, becoming more persistent in southern counties. Temperatures will range from 7 to 11 degrees.

Monday will see even more outbreaks of rain and drizzle. Highest temperatures will reach 10 to 13 degrees in fresh and gusty south to southwest winds. There'll also be some mist and fog along some coastal areas and over the hills.

Monday night will be mostly cloudy with patches of rain along some areas of mist. Lowest temperatures of 8 to 11 degrees.

Tuesday is set to be a cloudy day with more patches of drizzle, but it will be a mostly dry day. There will be some sunny interludes at times. Highest temperatures will reach from 10 to 13 degrees in fresh south to southwest winds.

Tuesday night will also be mostly dry with just a few showers in the northwest. It will be slightly colder though with lowest temperatures of 5 to 8 degrees.

There will be a mix of cloud and sunny spells on Wednesday. It should be mostly dry but some showers are expected. Similar to previous days, highest temperatures of 8 to 11 degrees.

Wednesday night will be mostly dry with just a few mist or fog patches. Lowest temperatures of 6 to 9 degrees..

Likewise, Thursday is expected to be generally dry. The west and north of the country will be cloudy with some patches of rain along the coast. The east and south will enjoy a mix of cloud and sunny spells. Highest temperatures of 9 to 12 degrees.
