Dundalk FC nominated for RTÉ Sport's Team of the Year award

Dundalk FC have been nominated for RTÉ Sport's Team of the Year award after their double winning campaign of 2018.

The Lilywhites, previously winners in 2015, having also claimed the SSE Airtricity League Premier Division and FAI Cup titles, face stiff competition the Cork camogie team, Ireland's eventing team, the Dublin men's and ladies' footballers, Limerick hurlers, Ireland's Paralympic athletics team, Paul and Gary O'Donovan, Ireland men's rugby team, Leinster rugby and Irish women's hockey side.

In explaining their nominations, RTÉ Sport said of Dundalk: "Dundalk were the dominant force in soccer this year, winning the League of Ireland for the fourth time in five years and completing the double with victory over rivals Cork City in the FAI Cup
final."

The ceremony takes place on Saturday night, December 15, starting at 9:20pm on RTÉ One and RTÉ Player.
