Kilmessan Shield

Ardee Celtic 3 Trim Celtic 0

Ardee Celtic moved into the Kilmessan Shield final with a 3–0 victory over Trim Celtic on Thursday night.

Ryan Ward's brace and a late third from Ross Gaynor did the damage for Conor Lynch's men, who overcame the NEFL Premier Division title-chasers for the first time this season.

Scoreless at the break, the hosts really got going after half-time when Gaynor supplied Ward to head home the opening goal.

The pair were involved again as the Deesiders extended their advantage. Trim's Aaron Ryan could only parry Gaynor's free and Ward was quickest to react with another headed finish.

Gaynors' stoppage-time strike rounded off an impressive win after the former Dundalk FC player rounded Ryan to apply the gloss to a very satisfying victory.
