SEAN O’MAHONYS 2-12
GERALDINES 0-13
Sean O’Mahonys came out on top against Geraldines in an entertaining contest at the Point Road to move into the top four.
The Gers travelled to Dundalk on the back of an impressive win over Newtown Blues the previous week, but were unable to build on that success against a determined O’Mahonys outfit, as goals from Conor Martin and Junior Shotayo saw them through.
In what proved to be a tight first half, the home side edged ahead at the break when Conor Martin’s goal sent them in with a 1-8 to 0-7 advantage.
The visitors battled to get back into the game with the help of points from Shane Roger and Niall Brennan but once again it was the O’Mahonys who scored the only goal of the half to stretch their lead. This time it was Junior Shotayo who found the net to ensure that his side moved above the Gers in the table.

ST MOCHTAS 0-7
COOLEY KICKHAMS 0-6
St Mochtas maintained their lead at the top of the Division 1 table thanks to a narrow win over Cooley Kickhams on Wednesday night in Fr McEvoy Park.
The Louth Village side certainly did it the hard way as they fought back from a four-point deficit with 20 minutes to play before coming home with a victory by the narrowest of margins. A late score from Declan Byrne proved to be the difference between the teams in the end.
The visitors appeared on course to continue their good run of form when Liam O’Flaherty opened the scoring, but it was Cooley who took control of the game. With the help of scores from Cian Connor, the Kickhams went in at the break with a 0-5 to 0-2 advantage.
It got even better for the hosts when they stretched the lead early in the second half but that proved to be their final score of the night as the Mochtas hit back.
Back-to-back points from Phily Englishby got the village side back in the game before Byrne and Danny Kindlon levelled. With four minutes remaining Byrne sent over what proved to be the winner and deny a Cooley side that also had scores on the night from Peter Thornton, Paul Brennan and Enda O’Neill.

NH MAIRTIN 1-9
ST FECHINS 0-10
Nh Mairtin moved further clear of the relegation battle with a two-point victory at home to St Fechins on Friday night.
It was the hosts who got the first point which was quickly cancelled out by the boot of Ryan Walsh on his return from injury. The next two points were also shared but the game changed when Evan Whelan drove forward to score the only goal of the game.
The Jocks added two further points before Walsh scored his third of the game to cut the gap to 1-5 to 0-3 at half time.
St Fechins stepped it up in the second half with points from Aaron McGlew and Joe Corrigan to leave just three between the teams. Martins again pointed from play before Corrigan did the same up the other end.
The home side again kept up the pressure and got two more heading into the final quarter to put five between the sides again. Jamie McDonnell and James McGlew got their names on the scoreboard with two fine points from play.
In the 16th minute the Mairtins got what would be their final score of the half as they pointed from play. St Fechins continued to press and all credit to Naomh Máirtin No 1 Joe Gordon who made two fine saves at close range to deny St Fechins the chance to go ahead. ST MARYS 2-17
ROCHE 0-9
St Marys maintained their pursuit of the pace-setters in Division 1 as they comfortably defeated Roche Emmets at home on Sunday afternoon, in the clash between last season’s Senior and Intermediate champions.
It was a disappointing outing for the Faughart men who had been hoping to hit back following Monday night’s defeat to the Dreadnots, but they were no match for the county champions on this occasion.
Goals from Tom Jackson and Keelin Martin sealed the win for the Ardee men who have now picked up nine points in their last five outings.
It was Jackson who was first to find the net in the opening period to see his team ease into a 1-9 to 0-4 lead at the short whistle.
It didn’t get much better for the hosts in the second half as Martin added a second on a day when Jonathan Commins, Adam Gillespie, Liam Jackson and Tadgh McDonnell were all on the scoresheet. NEWTOWN BLUES 0-18
ST PATRICKS 1-12
Newtown Blues recovered from defeat to Geraldines in their previous outing as they came out on top at home to St Patricks on Sunday afternoon.
The teams went into the game level in second place, level on ten points, but it was the Drogheda men who clinched the win that keeps them just two behind leaders St Mochtas.
The main architects of this success were Ross Nally and Jamie Kelly who both finished with seven points as their side hit back from an interval deficit to finish on top.
The Pats, who had county players Ciaran Murphy and Leonard Grey in their ranks, made a bright start with points from Conor McGuinness and Aidan McCann. The Blues hit back with four in succession but scores from Grey and Eoin O’Connor saw the visitors go in at the break with a 0-8 to 0-7 advantage.
Despite losing Thomas Costelloe to a red card, the Blues moved four points clear at the end of the third quarter as Nally and Kelly began to turn on the style. Darren Connor’s goal gave the Pats renewed hope with 12 minutes remaining, but the Blues weren’t to be denied and the ran out three point winners.

DREADNOTS 0-11
MATTOCK RANGERS 0-10
James Califf was the hero on Sunday night for Dreadnots as they came from behind to defeat Mattock Rangers in a crunch Division 1 match. With both sides at the bottom of the league a win before the split was significant for the Clogherhead side.
Rangers were the brighter of the two sides in the opening exchanges with Cathal Fleming and Terry Donegan leading the charge. Although ahead at the break, the Collon side's resistance waned in the second half.
Fresh from defeating Meath the day before, Dermot Campbell was a colossus for the winners down the stretch. Jay Hughes narrowed the gap and Califf swung over the winner after reverting to the edge of the square.
