Homes evacuated after car set ablaze in Louth

The fire service attended the scene and successfully extinguished the fire.

Gardaí are investigating an incident of criminal damage by fire after a car was set alight at a residential property on the Ardee Road in Dunleer, Louth, in the early hours of Thursday morning.

The incident was reported to Gardaí at around 12.35am.

A number of nearby homes were evacuated as a precaution while emergency services dealt with the blaze.

The fire service attended the scene and successfully extinguished the fire.

No injuries were reported at the time of the incident.
