'I’m glad I got to meet her' - Tributes pour in for beloved Louth woman

Tributes have been pouring in for Kathleen Fay (née Connolly) of Brookville, Drogheda, Co Louth in the wake of her passing after a short illness.

Messages of condolences and memories have left on Kathleen's rip.ie page by friends, family and acquaintances. Her friendliness, love of fitness and zest for life echoed in each tribute as did the fond memories and impact she has left behind on all who knew her.

One person wrote: "She was a great character, We have many fond memories from our days in The Boyne Health Studio. She will be sadly missed."

Another said: "She was such a lovely friendly lady. May she rest in peace."

A neighbour wrote: "Kathleen was a wonderful neighbour and friend to our late mother, Margaret who always spoke very fondly of her. May her gentle soul rest in peace."

A friend wrote: "So sorry to hear this news, heartbroken for you all. I remember your mam so fondly from our annual trips to the Lord of the Rings movies! She was so kind and fun! RIP Kathleen."

Staff at Integral Fitness Drogheda paid tribute to Kathleen: "She was such an active Person and a regular presence on the gym floor. She will be very much missed. Please accept our heartfelt condolences during this difficult time. Our thoughts are with Peter and the family. May Kathleen rest in peace."

Kathleen is sadly missed and remembered by her husband Peter, daughters Sandra, Lorraine and Denise, sons-in-law Dominic, Chet and Con, her adored grandchildren Grace, Hazel, Luke and Isabel, sisters Frances, Mary and Rose and her brother Gerard, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, extended family and friends.

She will repose at her home on Tuesday evening, January 28 from 4pm until 7pm. Funeral Mass on Wednesday morning, January 29 in Our Lady of Lourdes Church at 11.30am followed by cremation service in Dardistown Crematorium, Dublin at 1.30pm.
