Derry City announce new management, but Ruaidhri Higgins stays with Dundalk FC

Ruaidhri Higgins will continue in his opposition analyst role with Dundalk FC having not been named in new Derry City manager Declan Devine's coaching team.

Devine, a former assistant of Dundalk supremo Stephen Kenny, was announced as Kenny Sheils' successor on a two-year deal this evening.

There had been strong speculation last week linking Higgins, who has worked on the Lilywhites' backroom team since 2017, with a role under Devine at the Brandywell.

However, Kevin Deery, Marty McCann and Paddy McCourt will instead work with the Candystripes next season.
