John Mountney has this evening committed his future to Dundalk FC by signing a new one-year deal with the club.
Though the midfielder's future was never considered to be away from Oriel Park, the Mayo man is one of the last members from the 2017 squad to confirm their place with Stephen Kenny's side for next season.
Signed by Seán McCaffrey prior to the 2012 campaign, alongside team mate Chris Shields, the 24-year-old is the joint-longest serving player at the club.

A troublesome groin injury meant Mountney was unable to feature much in the closing months of the recent season, however, he did come off the bench in November's Irish Daily Mail FAI Cup final defeat to Cork City.
The three-time league winner has featured regularly under Kenny, playing a prominent role in Dundalk's memorable Europa League odyssey of 2016, playing in five of the six group games.
His re-signing brings next season's first team squad to a confirmed 17 members.
