Teenager in critical condition following single car collision on motorway

A teenager is in critical condition following a single car collision on the M7. 

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to the incident, which occurred yesterday (Monday December 5) on the M7 motorway in Co Tipperary. 

The driver and sole occupant of the car was taken from the scene by ambulance to University Hospital Limerick, where his condition is understood to be critical. 

The scene will be examined this morning (December 6) by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and traffic diversions are in place.

The M7 motorway is currently closed from Junction 26 (Nenagh) – Junction 27 (Birdhill) with diversion to the R445 (Old N7) in place.

Road users with camera footage (including dash-cam) who were travelling in the vicinity at the time of the collision are asked to make it available to investigating Gardaí.
