A new survey has revealed Ireland's top New Year's Resolutions, as well as the resolutions that are most likely to be broken in the New Year.

Adopting healthy habits and losing weight are the two most common goals for Irish people in the New Year, according to the survey by FruitySlots.com.

Almost half of respondents (49%) plan to exercise more for their New Year resolution and 47% want to eat healthier.

The survey has also revealed that 40% of people are aiming to lose weight, 39% are aiming to drink more water and 31% want to get more sleep.

The survey has also shown that people want to improve their mental wellness with less time on their phones and travelling more, according to the survey.

Top List:

  • Excersie more
  • Eat healthier
  • Drink more water
  • Get more sleep
  • Travel more
  • Less time on screens

Nearly a third plan to travel more, while 28% hope to read more books, and 27% vow to spend more time with family.

24% want to cut down on their mobile phone usage, and over 1 in 5 respondents plan to reduce the amount of time spent on social media in the New Year.

According to survey results, over a quarter of participants admitted they’re least likely to stick with their goal of eating better in 2025. Losing weight wasn’t far behind, with 23% acknowledging they’d struggle to stay on track.

20% of people admitted that they would struggle to spend less time on social media, while 19% felt reducing time on their phone would be equally tricky, the survey has revealed.
