Fire service issues home safety warning amid continued hot weather nationwide

Dublin Fire Brigade has issued a home safety warning amid the continued hot weather nationwide.

An X (formerly Twitter) post published by the fire service yesterday evening (April 21) urged people to close their internal doors at home during the night in case of a fire.

The post reads: "Warmer evenings are back with us....for now. Don't be tempted to leave internal doors open at night. Closing doors will help stop the spread of smoke and fire should a fire occur."

Highest temperatures of 12 to 18 degrees are forecast for today (April 22), with warm weather expected to continue intermittently throughout the week.
