A fatal collision involving two cars in Tipperary claimed the life of one woman, who has now been named locally as Claire Kavanagh.
The 37-year-old was pronounced dead after a tragic collision involving two cars that claimed her life.
The crash happened on Good Friday, March 29 at approximately 10pm on the N24 at Kilsheelan, Co Tipperary.
Locals described Ms Kavanagh as "such a genuinely lovely girl". She is a mother of one and wife to Anthony.
Ms Kavanagh's cousin, Haleigh Kavanagh Walsh, paid a heartfelt tribute to her "best friend" on social media following the tragic news. She said: "You see these articles all the time and never think it’s going to be one of your own you’re reading about.
"I love you forever Claire, give me and our family the strength we need to get through this’’.
Another wrote: "You’ve always been a big part of everyone’s life who ever knew you, so positive, jolly and caring. May you rest in peace. You were obviously too good for this world’’.
No funeral arrangements have yet been announced.
Her body was taken to University Hospital Waterford where a postmortem examination is due to take place on Saturday evening.
The driver of the car which Claire was travelling in is being treated for injuries, thought to be non-life threatening.
Three teenagers were in the second car involved the collision, where they too have all been hospitalised and are being treated for their injuries.
