Popular discount retailer Dealz has recalled thousands of baby clothes sold in Ireland due to a risk of cuts.
According to the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC), Pep & Co socks and tights (Baby Girl and Disney, Christmas and Baby Boy, and Winter and Tom & Jerry, Bambi, Toy Story and Chip & Dale) have all been recalled due to a risk of injury to children.
The inside toe area of all the products is reportedly made with an uncut loop, which can lead to tightness in the toe area, resulting in ischemia or lacerations.
Three thousand one hundred and eighty seven Pep & Co Baby Girl and Disney socks and tights have been recalled (affected model numbers: 818509, 829735, 831121, 829736, 830901, 830980, 830981, 831037, 818317, 827493, 830798, 830799, 830795, 830797 and 830793) while 3,125 Pep & Co Winter and Tom & Jerry, Bambi, Toy Story and Chip & Dale socks have been removed from Dealz shelves.
Additionally, 4,332 Pep & Co Christmas and Baby Boy socks and tights have also been recalled, with affected model numbers including 831099, 830982, 831903 ,818510, 818568, 830983, 830984, 830988, 831902, 828530, 822088, 831120, 829737,826755, 826756 and 831122.
Customers should stop using the products immediately, keep them out of the reach of children and return to any Dealz store for a full refund.
