A man has been killed in a two-vehicle collision which occurred near Claremorris.
The impact occurred this morning near a crossroads on the R311 between Claremorris and Hollymount.
The man who died, who is understood to be in his late 30s, is understood to be the driver of one of the vehicles.
At least one other person has been rushed to Mayo University Hospital in Castlebar for treatment.
The road has been closed to traffic as a forensic collision team carry out an investigation.
