Witnesses sought after man dies following 'low-impact' road collision

The incident happened in Dublin on Monday evening

GARDAI investigating a fatal road traffic incident in Dublin are appealing for any witnesses to contact them.

Shortly before 6pm on Monday, emergency services were alerted following a low-impact collision involving two cars at Grand Parade, Dublin 6.

"The driver of one of the cars involved, a male in his late 60s, was treated at the scene by emergency services personnel and removed by ambulance to St. Vincent’s University Hospital where he was later pronounced deceased," said a garda spokesperson.

The driver of the second car did not require immediate medical treatment.

The Coroner has been notified and a post-mortem examination will be arranged results of which will determine the course of the investigation.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this incident to come forward. Any road users who were travelling in the Grand Parade area at the time and may have camera footage (including dash-cam) are asked to make this available to investigating gardaí.
