Gardai launch investigation following discovery of man's body in Limerick car park

Gardai at Henry Street are investigating

GARDAI are investigating all of the circumstances surrounding the discovery of a body at a multi-storey car park in Limerick city.

The alarm was raised at approximately 5am this Friday after gardaí and emergency services were alerted to the discovery of the body of a male, aged in his 40s, in Steamboat Quay Car Park.

The body remains at the scene which has been preserved to allow for a forensic and technical examination by members of the Garda Technical Bureau.

A post-mortem examination will be conducted which will determine the course of the investigation and gardaí at Henry Street are appealing to any persons who may have information in relation to this incident to contact them.

"Anyone who was in the vicinity of Steamboat Quay, Dock Road this morning between 4am and 6am is asked to contact investigating gardaí," said a spokesperson.
