Louth archers win medals at various competitions

Various members of CúChulainn Archers were out and about in competition over the last fortnight. First up was the Archery Ireland Outdoor Open Target Championships.

This was hosted by Archery Ireland in the grounds of the National Sports Campus in Blanchardstown.

Competing in very windy conditions were JoAnn Bell, who took the Gold in the Compound Women Category, retaining her title for the second year in succession.

Brendan Forde, who came third in the Recurve Men Category, scored Personal Bests at 90 metres and 70 metres in the 1440 Round and also scored a Personal Best for the 720 Round. Alan Convery, who came third in the Compound Men category.

Competing in the Ron Bell Memorial Shoot, hosted by Lough Cuan Bowmen, were: Mark Young, Trad 50+Category – Gold; Gilbert McClelland, Compound 50+ Category – Gold; Phillip Fitzpatrick, Compound 50+ Category – Silver; Ryan Dougan, Barebow Men category – Silver; and Peter Gilmore, Barebow 50+ category - Silver
