GROUP A
MATTOCK RANGERS 3-18 GLEN EMMETS 1-13
It was one-way traffic in Collon on a Sunny Sunday afternoon as Mattock dispatched neighbours Glen Emmets in the Paddy Sheelan Cup as blistering starts to both halves from the home side did the trick.
Cathal Fleming continued his fine form with some early scores along with wing forward Terry Donegan. A Lorcan Lynch brace seemed to settle the visitors but Ben Quaile found the net and Rangers never looked back.

James Butler did respond with some frees, but the Tullyallen men were 2-9 to 0-6 down at halftime, as Fleming provided a green flag on the stroke of halftime.
Kevin Barry’s side did come back into it somewhat after the restart, with the impressive Butler finding the net. However, Mattock would finish strong with all their forwards hitting the target and a Sean Flynn goal.

O’RAGHALLAIGHS 0-22 OLIVER PLUNKETTS 1-16
Drogheda town bragging rights went the way of the green and white hoops of O’Raghallaigh’s against Oliver Plunketts in Mell on Sunday morning.
The accuracy of county panellist Kyle McElroy was the difference between the evenly matched neighbours. Plunketts did have a sharpshooter of their own in Kristian Nolan but O’Raghallaigh’s would have enough to win.
The Plunketts have yet to pick up a point in the Sheelan Cup, but when Ben Boyce found the net, the hosts looked to be in a winning position. However, McElroy punished the indiscipline all morning with placed efforts, aided expertly by Eoin Moore from beyond the arc.

ST. FECHINS 1-18 ST. PATRICKS 0-7
The sun came out on Sunday afternoon and brought out the best in the home side as St. Fechins had a comfortable win over St. Pats in Beaulieu with Ryan Walsh in fine shooting form with 1-10 of the final tally.
Fechins dominated the play as well as the scoreboard in the opening half with scores coming from all playing positions, Walsh opened the scoring followed by another off the boot of Harry Haughney.
Walsh scored the first of three, two pointers in this half from a placed ball with James McGlew getting on the scoresheet a minute later.
It was the 11th minute before the visitors got off the mark with a Conor McGuinness free but they would continue to struggle to find their accuracy in this half kicking four wides before getting their second score of the half with a Stefan Breen point as the whistle went.
Fechins piled on the pressure with scores from Colm Hackett, Harry Haughney, James McGlew and the on-form Walsh leaving the visitors with a lot to do in the second half as they trailed 0-13 to 0-2.
The Fechins goal came right from the restart from Walsh and that would seal the contest as a whole. The winners would go scoreless in the final quarter as the Pats hit their purple patch with three shots from play but it was too late to impact the final result.

The home side were on course for victory in this Paddy Sheelan Cup Group C encounter with six minutes remaining when a Cian O Naraigh point saw the Irelanders lead by three.
However, the Clans drew level with scores from Curran (2) and Tiernan Weldon before the full forward landed the winners deep into injury time, to bring his tally to eleven for the hour.
It was a tight contest throughout with the visitors on target through Curran, Gavin Gaffey and Mark Newell. However, the Young Irelands stayed in the game and a Leon Duffy goal on 22 minutes saw them go in at the break with a 1-5 to 0-7 lead.
Jordan O’Donoghue and Shay Coleman exchanged scores at the start of the second half before the hosts edged four clear. However, they were unable to build on that advantage as the Clans hit back to claim victory.

Stabannon Parnells got off the mark for the season on Sunday morning as they ran out worthy winners against St Brides to earn the first win of the Paddy Sheelan Cup campaign.
The Group C encounter in Knockbridge produced some well-taken points from both sides but the visitors could find the net that proved the difference between the teams.
Dylan Shevlin, Ryan Shevlin and Harry Butterly all found the net to give their side the edge in what proved to be an entertaining contest.
It was Dylan Shevlin who grabbed the first goal of the game for the Parnells to help his side establish a 1-8 to 0-6 lead at halftime.
The visitors consolidated their grip on the game with further goals from Ryan Shevlin and Harry Butterly. Although St Brides saw Kevin Hearty and Paddy Reilly find the net at the other end, it wasn’t enough to deny Stabannon who made the trip home with both points in the bag.

Goals from Paul Brennan, Calum O’Hanlon and Thomas McCarragher were instrumental for the winners while Cian Connor had another impressive outing as he finished with nine points to his credit, with the tally including three two-pointers.
It was Brennan and O’Hanlon who raised green flags in the first half to see Cooley take a commanding 2-11 to 0-6 advantage at the break.
Eoin McCoy led the way for the Blues on the day as he finished with five points while Alan Connor and Colm Judge were also on target.

Both sides last met in the championship and Eoin McDonnell repeated his goal-scoring feat from that night while Conor Gillespie was in fine form on the edge of the square.
Midfielder Brian Cafferty found the net also but Tiernan Corrigan’s impressive displays at half-back are catching the eye of the table toppers. Luke Keenan also found the net having moved to inside forward.

In the first meeting of the sides since that fateful night in Haggardstown, the Clogher side was well blended with some youthful faces and experienced heads alongside them.
Craig Shevlin continued to enjoy the new rules to score again in the contest. The wing forward proved to be the difference in Clogher’s first win of the season.
