Louth footballer Craig Lennon received a coveted place on the 2024 GAA All-Star team and making him the first Louth player since Paddy Keenan in 2010 to secure the honour.
Lennon earned his spot from the wing-back position and was a key player for Ger Brennan’s side where he excited fans throughout the season.
Known for his speed and game-changing plays the St. Mochtas clubman scored an impressive 4-7 from play over the course of the championship.
His performance included memorable moments like a two-goal match against Meath in Inniskeen and a goal against Dublin in the Leinster final.
He also played an important role in Louth's thrilling win over Cork when he earned a late free that secured their place in the All-Ireland quarter-finals.
Lennon’s inclusion at left half-back places him among 14 players who are receiving All-Star recognition for the first time.
The team also features a strong representation from this year’s All-Ireland champions, Armagh with six players included: Aidan Forker, Barry McCambridge, Rian O’Neill, Ben Crealy, Oisin Conaty, and Conor Turbitt. Galway has five players on the team.
On a rare occasion, neither Dublin nor Kerry have any players selected which marks the first time since 2003 that the powerhouses have been excluded.
Meanwhile, the Footballer of the Year race is between Galway's John Maher and Paul Conroy, who are up against Armagh’s Barry McCambridge.
Uachtarán CLG Jarlath Burns said: “To be included on the ultimate team of teams after what was a dramatic and memorable football season is a significant honour and I congratulate all of those who have been selected.
“We play a team game, but we have always reserved a special place for those Laochra Gael who cast a spell through the extraordinary heights and contributions that they make.
“For more than 50 years that is what the All-Stars have been about – recognising and celebrating those players who have been a cut above.
“Those of us from the Orchard County are still basking in the glow of our triumph of last summer and I know that the clubs who waken up today knowing they have All-Stars as well as All-Ireland medals in their ranks will be enormously proud – something that every club lucky enough to be represented will feel.
“Maintaining this institution in our calendar is a major commitment and something we are indebted to PwC for their backing and support and likewise the partnership we enjoy with the GPA.”
