Pedestrian and traffic access to the Tholsel crossroads in Drogheda has been reopened following a structural survey carried out on Monday afternoon, allowing movement along West Street, Peter Street, and Shop Street.

High winds on Friday had caused damage to nearby buildings when a Christmas light installation fell.

West Street, Peter Street and Shop Street are all open to traffic and pedestrians.

St Laurence Street is open to traffic; however, pedestrian access is limited due to an exclusion zone at No 2 and No 3.

In a statement, Louth County Council said: "Louth County Council would like to thank the public for their patience and cooperation over the past number of days."
