Macardles Brewery Bar in Dundalk to reopen for one special evening

A special highlight of the evening will be the recreation of a 1995 group photo taken in  the Brewery Bar exactly 30 years ago

The Macardles Historical Society has announced a special Brewery Bar Reunion Night taking place at the original Macardles Brewery Bar on Friday, 5th December 2025, from 6pm to 8pm. The event marks a rare gathering for former brewery workers and their families, celebrating the rich history and enduring spirit of  one of Dundalk’s most cherished landmarks.

Although Macardles Brewery closed its doors in 2001, the memories and friendships it created have never faded. The reunion, organised by Jason McGee, brings together around 50 former employees and families for an evening of storytelling, laughter and nostalgia.

A special highlight of the evening will be the recreation of a 1995 group photo taken in  the Brewery Bar exactly 30 years ago allowing attendees to relive a treasured  moment in time.

Adding to the sense of occasion, Irish Whiskey Auctions, who are now based in the  Brewery Business Park, will host a whiskey tasting experience on the night, celebrating  the continued connection between the site and Ireland’s proud brewing and distilling  traditions.

“This event is about more than just remembering the brewery it’s about  reconnecting with old friends, sharing stories, and celebrating the people who  made Macardles what it was,” said Jason McGee, organiser and member of the  Macardles Historical Society. “The fact that we can recreate that photo 30 years  later, in the same bar, makes it even more special.”

Tickets for the event have now sold out, with 50 people expected to attend. For further details, please contact info@macardles.ie or visit www.macardles.ie
