LEO Louth announces new supports for local businesses

The Local Enterprise Office Louth is once again stepping up to support the local business community with a suite of new Management Development Programmes, open to business owners across Louth.

Nikki Campbell, Head of Enterprise with Local Enterprise Office Louth, explained that: “Our goal is to provide practical learning that empowers local business owners to grow and succeed. These new programmes address current challenges and opportunities, offering vital support for both start-ups and established businesses.”

The new programme offering includes five focused themes, each delivered by expert trainers and designed for immediate impact. All training is heavily subsidised, ensuring it is accessible to business owners and managers in Louth. Most programmes include one-to-one mentoring, enabling business owners to tailor learning to their specific business needs.

Ideation to Creation: Ideal for early-stage entrepreneurs who have received a Feasibility Grant but need structured support to progress. Running from September 2025, this blended programme includes a workshop and significant one-to-one mentoring. Participants will learn to refine and validate their idea and develop a confident, actionable business plan.

Smarter Business with AI: This is a practical, five-part online programme for local businesses. Evening sessions will teach you to integrate powerful AI tools for smarter operations and enhanced productivity, helping you work smarter, not harder. Commencing late August with sessions through September, it includes post-completion mentoring.

HR for Non-HR Managers: This programme provides essential, jargon-free HR skills. Gain confidence in managing a team, this programme will cover key areas like contracts, recruitment, performance, leave policies, grievances, disciplinaries, and equality & diversity. Starting in August, this is perfect for business owners and managers who need to navigate HR challenges effectively and efficiently. 

Finance Essentials for Business: is a three-session programme for business owners commencing in late August. This course helps demystify business finance by providing a practical learning in business finance, accounts, profit vs. cash flow, forecasting, and costing/pricing. The programme includes direct mentoring to business owners to apply the learning in their own business  and make more informed financial decisions. 

Christmas for Retailers: This practical workshop, taking place in August,  is designed to help local retailers maximise sales and customer engagement during the crucial Christmas trading period. This programme will focus on enhancing the digital shopfront, logistical preparation, merchandising,  seasonal marketing and customer engagement. A must for all retailers, this programme will commence in August and includes one to one follow up mentoring.
