The exhibition marks the culmination of a year-long visual arts project with very young children across County Lout
Artists Jenny Slater and Caoimhe O’Dwyer say they are proud to launch 'Stacked Up’ — a pop-up exhibition taking place on Thursday 1 May 2025 at 7pm at Creative Spark Downtown in Dundalk, marking the culmination of a year-long visual arts project with very young children across Louth.
From July 2024 to May 2025, Jenny and Caoimhe worked directly with children aged 1–4 through a series of joyful, hands-on workshops in creches, pre-schools, stay & play groups, and early learning centres. Their work focused on valuing the voices, imagination and creative potential of very young children through visual art, play, and sensory exploration.
Stacked Up showcases the results of this rich, process-led collaboration. At the heart of the exhibition are the bespoke Building Block art kits — designed and fabricated at the FabLab in Creative Spark — which were central to the project’s workshops.
These tactile kits will be presented as sculptural installations and will be gifted to each participating service following the exhibition, allowing the project’s creative impact to continue.
