Louth County Council seeks to CPO land for Carlingford Public Realm Scheme
Louth County Council announced this week that it has made an order which its is to submit to An Bord Pleanála for confirmation, will authorise the local authority to acquire compulsorily, land for the purposes of Carlingford Public Realm Scheme and all ancillary works.
The local authority says that owners, lessees and occupiers of the land described in the schedules which can be found here are requested to make themselves known to Louth County Council. Any objection to the Compulsory Purchase Order (CPO) must state in writing, the grounds of objection and be sent to An Bord Pleanála by 13th May 2025.
If an objection is made in respect of the acquisition by an owner, lessee or occupier of the lands and is not withdrawn, Louth County Council says that An Bord Pleanála may at its absolute discretion hold an oral hearing in relation to the matter. Before making its decision on an application to confirm the CPO, An Bord Pleanála must consider any objection made and not withdrawn, any additional submissions or observations made pursuant to Section 217A of the Planning and Development Acts 2000, as amended, and any report of the person who held the oral hearing, if such an oral hearing takes place.

Louth County Council adds that a copy of the order and of the map referred to in it may be seen at the offices of Louth County Council, County Hall, Dundalk, Co. Louth and Louth County Council, Fair Street, Drogheda, Co Louth between the hours of 9:00am to 5:00pm and on its website at www.louthcoco.ie.
