WATCH: 'So welcoming' - Dundalk's 'most popular' chipper gets the food-reviewer treatment

A well-known and popular Dundalk chipper welcomed a social media food reviewer over the long weekend, earning a solid score in a now-viral clip.

Paul Micheau of the Is It Worth It food review channel, who describes himself as “Ireland’s most honest food reviewer,” recently made the trip to County Louth to try Dundalk’s “most popular takeaway.”

Visiting Roma Restaurant in Dundalk, Paul opted for a varied selection from the menu which included a chicken breast, fresh cod, a battered sausage, chips, curry sauce, and a bottle of Oasis. His meal came to a total of €24.10, which he deemed reasonable.

Providing running commentary throughout, Paul rates each restaurant based on the price, taste, and overall experience before giving a final score.

Impressed with the service and atmosphere, Paul described Roma as “so welcoming” and noted that it would be an ideal spot to visit after a night out. A staff member even surprised him mid-review with a free homemade ice cream, adding to the positive experience.

In the end, Paul described the price as “good,” the chips and battered sausage as “delicious,” but found both the chicken breast and fish to be “dry.” He concluded with what he called his “fair and honest score” of 7.3 for the popular Dundalk restaurant.
