Skypark in Carlingford Co. Louth unveils exciting new attraction

The attraction opens to the public on 8th June

Skypark, located in Carlingford, has announced the grand opening of its latest attraction, Skynet Giant Adventure – the newest netted adventure in Ireland.

Opening to the public on 8th June, this addition follows a significant €500,000 investment aimed at enhancing visitor experiences and expanding Skypark’s offerings.

The Skynet Giant Adventure is set to complement Skypark’s existing attractions, including the largest aerial adventure course in Ireland, Ireland’s Ancient East Maze, Frisbee Disc Golf, Foot Golf and much more.

With this new addition, Skypark says it solidifies its reputation as a must-visit destination for adventure seekers this summer and that “just 30 minutes from Dundalk, Skypark offers a perfect day out for families, groups, and thrill-seekers alike.”

“This major investment marks a new chapter in the Skypark journey,” said Tom McArdle, CEO of Skypark.

“We are dedicated to providing unforgettable experiences, and with Skypark celebrating its 10-year anniversary this year, we are immensely proud of the diverse activities we now offer. We are looking forward to an exciting summer ahead.”

Visitors will be able to bounce on expansive nets, climb through captivating treehouses, navigate challenging climbing tubes, and slide down thrilling netted slides.

The attraction was designed and engineered by the renowned Dutch company Funcha.

Head of Ireland’s Ancient East at Fáilte Ireland, Brian O’Flynn said:

“Fáilte Ireland welcomes the opening of the new Skynet Giant Adventure at Skypark & Carlingford Adventure. It’s important that we continue to look for new ways to innovate and improve our tourism offering to attract both international and domestic visitors to Carlingford and drive tourism across the wider region.

“Last year, we launched our Regional Development Strategy for Ireland’s Ancient East to unlock the commercial potential of the region while ensuring development is sustainable and that the socio-economic benefits of tourism are seen and felt in local communities and businesses.

“This strategy also supports the development of Carlingford and Cooley Peninsula as an iconic adventure destination. Skypark & Carlingford Adventure are key attractions in the Carlingford area and recently participated in our Digital that Delivers programme which demonstrates their commitment to enhancing the visitor experience.

“We look forward to supporting the continued development of this destination over the coming years.”

The Skynet Giant Adventure will be officially open to the public from 8th June. Skynet, along with 10 other exciting activities, is available to book as part of an activity bundle.
