15 candidates are set to contest seven seats in Dundalk South LEA
Independent councillor Maeve Yore looks set to convincingly retain her seat in the Dundalk South electoral area having garnered 2055 first preference votes; a 17.5% share of the vote.
A total of 11,751 votes were cast representing a turnout of 46.50% in the seven seater constituency.
Robert Nash is polling in second according to tallies with 1248 votes; a 10.67% share with Emma Coffey coming in with a 9.37% share;1096 votes
Her party colleague and newcomer Shane McGuinness polled almost as well on the tallies with 1045 votes; a 8.93% share, closely followed by Sinn Fein’s Kevin Meenan who garnered 949 first preferences; an 8.11% share.
The two remaining places are occupied by Marianne Butler of the Greens on 748 votes, a 6.39% share; and Sionainn Mccann of Sinn Fein on 688 votes, a 5.88% share.
