Dundalk councillors vote to increase pay parking in the town
Dundalk councillors voted on Tuesday evening to increase the hourly rate for pay parking in Dundalk to €1.30.
The Annual Budget 2023 for Louth County Council which was approved by Louth councillors at the November meeting allowed for the increase in the pay parking rate in both Dundalk and Drogheda. Dundalk Municipal District councillors voted on Tuesday to pass the bye-law amendment to allow for the increase in the municipal district.
The bye-law, known as The Municipal District of Dundalk Parking Control (Pay Parking) (Parking Fee Amendment) Bye-Law 2022, comes into effect from 7 January 2023, and applies to all parking places within pay parking areas in the Municipal District of Dundalk.
According to the bye law passed by councillors, the parking fee for the "parking of a vehicle in any parking space in Dundalk during the charging hours is €0.26 every continuous 12 minute period during the maximum period of parking."
The vote was passed by Dundalk councillors at the November meeting, with five voting for the amendment and three against, with five members absent for the vote.
