REPORT: Gardai at shooting incident in Louth
Gardai in Drogheda are reported to be responding to a suspected shooting in the Louth town this evening.
According to Journal.ie there are a number of garda units at the scene.
RTE are reporting that a man has been shot a number of times at Hardman's Gardens in the town.
A number of shots fired at a house on one of the busiest streets in Drogheda, across the road from one is the most popular convenience stores in the area. Swift response from An Garda Siochana and the emergency services. This utter madness must end.

Local election candidate Jeff Rudd was out canvassing when he happened upon the incident. He took to Facebook to describe what he saw:
"I (am) currently out canvasing in Drogheda for local elections. Suddenly nearby hear the sound of what could be gunshots, six to eight in total, around Hardmans Gardens. Place now swarmed by garda in uniform, unmarked garda cars and ambulances.
"A few people have turned up wearing stab or bullet proof jackets - and they are not Garda. They attempting to gain access where the possible shooting was. Garda holding them off from entering possible crime scene."
