Old IRA Easter Sunday commemoration events in Dundalk
The annual Old IRA Easter Sunday Commemoration takes place this Sunday beginning with mass at St Patrick’s Cathedral in Dundalk at 9.30am.
Following mass, there will be a slow march to the Republican Plot led by Dundalk Brass Band at Dowdallshill cemetery at 10.45am.
There will be a wreath laying and a Decade of the Rosary in Irish, along with an oration and a reading of the 1916 Proclamation.
The lowering of the flags and the playing of the Last Post will follow and the ceremony will conclude with the National Anthem.
