Louth sees small decrease in rents in third quarter of 2018

Rents remain 8.3% higher than 2017

Rents in Louth have decreased by 2.6% in third quarter of 2018 but remain 8.3% higher than this time last year, according to the Residential Tenancies Board (RTB) Rent Index that has been released today.

The standardised rent in the third quarter of 2018 in Louth stands at €960, up from €886 in 2017.

In the second quarter of 2017, the standardised rent was €986.

The standardised rent for Louth is now €342 higher than it was in 2012, when it was €618 in the second quarter of that year.

The Rent Index has also revealed a large difference in rents in Dundalk Carlingford area (Dundalk North) and Dundalk South.

The standardised rents in Dundalk Carlingford stand at €848.16 while in Dundalk South are €950.46.
