Permission granted for changes to biomanufacturing plant in Dundalk

Louth County Council have granted conditional planning permission to Wuxi Biologics Ltd, to make changes to the original plans submitted to the Council, for their proposed biomanufacturing plant in Dundalk.

The plant when complete would be the world's largest biomanufacturing plant, and is set to create 400 jobs, along with another 700 in its construction.

The changes Wuxi Biologics applied to make were to reduce the size of the "GFA of builings on site 2", "from 57,700m2 to 54,232m2."

Overall, the WuXi Biologics buildings will be both slightly smaller and lower than the original buildings approved in the IDA Ireland permission, but they will occupy the approximately the same 45,000m² footprint on the ground.

The decision was due to be made by Tuesday December 4, however a decision on the application was announced today.
