80 new homes planned for Mount Avenue Dundalk

A planning application has been lodged this week with the Louth County Council, seeking to construct 80 homes at Farndreg, Mount Avenue, Dundalk.

The application which was lodged by Urban Life Developments on November 5 2018, aims to develop 50 houses and 30 apartments at the site.

The houses will range from 1-2 storeys and will be semi-detached, terraced and detached, while the apartments will be two linked 3 storey apartment buildings.

The proposed development would also see improvements to the existing junction between Mount avenue and the Headford Estate Road, either side of the entrance, and also provides for an upgrade and improvement of Mount Avenue for 550 m towards the Castleblaney road.

This is not the first application made by Urban Life to develop houses at this location. In 2015 a similar application was made to develop 142 homes. Following a number of submissions however, the development did not progress.

A decision is due on the new application by January 8 2019, with submissions due by December 9 2018.
