Louth N53 closure to be extended
Louth County Council have announced today that the N53 road closure is now to be extended to December 7 December.
On the Louth County Council website, the below announcement has appeared today:
"Louth County Council hereby gives notice of its decision to extend the duration of the advertised road closure to Friday 7th December 2018 to facilitate major road reconstruction works."
The diversions put in place are as follows:
N53 National Secondary Road from Hackballscross to Rassan.
Diversion Route:
West bound traffic (Dundalk to Castleblaney): From Hackballscross (junction of N53 with LP-31250) travel southeast along the N53 to junction 17 on the M1 Motorway. Enter the M1 Motorway and travel south, exiting at Junction 16, enter the N52 (Dundalk to Ardee Road) and continue into Ardee. Turn right off the Dundalk Road roundabout for the N2 (Derry Road) and continue to Castleblaney, via Carrickmacross.
Eastbound- Above route in reverse.
Local access, the council says, will be provided, where practical.
